Ignorance is No Longer a Defence

There is compelling evidence that vaccines work, with few serious side effects, yet they're still being demonized while media continues to suggest Covid ended.

An Australian 8-year-old went into cardiac arrest but was saved due to her mum's ability to do CPR until an ambulance arrived. The Australian news mention that "cardiac arrest incidents are at the highest ever recorded," but their newscast is all about the importance of learning CPR. The comments on the article were divided.

Covid Vaccinations Prevent Acute Symptoms

Of over 500 comments at time of posting, the vast majority blamed vaccinations for the heart attacks. They provided no compelling evidence.

ETA: One recent study of over 4 million people determined the stroke rate after vaccination to be 0.05% which is not significantly different than the average stroke rate of a population tracked before the pandemic.

The Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine this year is being awarded to two people whose work enabled the development of mRNA vaccines, and I won't even hazard a peek at the comments there.

It speak volumes that despite getting the vaccines rolling, they both wore an N95 to get their award. The new era in vaccine knowledge is huge, but it's not enough to protect against Covid.

A recent article by Dr. Jonathan Howard suggests that part of the reason for this hatred may be that the earliest announcements oversold the Covid vaccines. I completely agree. We were all prepared to get a shot, a booster, and it's over. We scrambled to get vaccinated!! And then the breakout cases started, and now we realize the vaccine will help to prevent severe acute symptoms to keep people out of the hospital, and it does help a bit to prevent getting and transmitting it, but not nearly enough. "Breakout cases" are the norm now. The continued promotion of vaccines as our saviour in all this is not boding well for their cause. We know it's not true, and that's definitely part of the problem.

On twitter, I've known people with "arrested" accounts who couldn't figure out any rule they may have come close to breaking, while many others are allowed to roam freely spouting truly barbaric crap. That's on Musk, who also recently posted this:

In case you buy into the meme at all, many vaccines work best with herd immunity, like measles and whooping cough, so we require people to get it. It's for the greater good to tell people they can't come to work or school without the vaccine in order to reduce outbreaks of a painful and deadly disease. It turns out that Covid's not like that, so I don't think getting that shot will be demanded of people again. It's barely even encouraged as the media tip-toes around the angry masses, and we're down to only about 6% of the population having a Covid shot within the last six months.

Furthermore, there are so many deadly disease that you have to be tested for to know you have it, but only if you want to catch it before it makes itself known or kills you. I had no idea I had three cancerous tumours until I was tested. At the time, they were small and didn't cause me any pain at all. I felt great! I didn't have to be tested, but if I hadn't gotten routinely checked, I would likely have died years ago. With Covid, testing is more important because it's contagious

Is this really so difficult to understand, or are the rich just collectively provoking a cull??

Already all the anti-vax talk has reduced the number of childhood vaccines being given because parents are scared of vaccines now, which has directly increased the number of  measles and whooping cough cases. And we're so stuck in a "free speech" obsession, that nobody will stop these errors from being promoted, and children will die as a result.

Oh well.

But how do the anti-vax explain the causation now: Since vaccinations are down to just 6%, why on earth are heart attacks increasing?

It's the Covid, Stupid

Many commenters on that Australian news article provided evidence from peer-reviewed studies published in highly respected science journals that the increased number of heart attacks is a direct result of Covid. We shouldn't be getting so used to heart attacks happening in school children! We shouldn't need everyone to learn CPR, including children so they can save their friends. We HAVE to get better at PREVENTING COVID.

We're downstream learning CPR instead of upstream with masks to prevent the need for to learn what to do when your little friend keels over in the schoolyard.

I commented with a related concern,

"Avoiding acknowledging Covid means people could be advised to exercise more for heart health, which can be contraindicated for Covid and Long Covid. It seems dangerous to not be more upfront about Covid causing cardiac arrest."

It's dangerous for the media to present this as a light-hearted good news story. Children's hearts are stopping after getting this vascular disease that fills the bloodstream with micro-clots able to later affect many organs including the heart and brain!

Newscasters Have to Take Some Responsibility

Closer to home, in another bit of news on the unveiling of a Covid Wall of Memories in Breslau, the newscasters all talk about Covid as if it ended long ago, and now we're saying a final goodbye to the fallen. While honouring the many families who have lost someone to Covid, we can hear coughing in the background of a completely unmasked crowd. I commented,

"I love the sentiment of this, but I'm annoyed that the reporters keep using the past tense to talk about Covid. People continue to die from it. More names will need to be added on an ongoing basis as we refuse to take precautions in part because media pretends it ended."

Media is complicit. Any newscaster who spews this narrative is perpetuating the crisis. They need to learn the science and then take a stand. Ignorance isn't a defence anymore when the accurate information is so widely available. Journalists just have to be willing to look for it.
