The New CPC

Remember back when Harper was PM, and he opened Canada's media to foreign ownership despite widespread protests? So now Poilievre all but owns Canadian MSM. Media is backing him and many pollsters are backing him, and Trudeau has little mainstream media on his side. Even CBC seems to be promoting Poilievre. When the polls show that everyone would vote in Poilievre if an election were tomorrow, don't believe it. Unfortunately enough people will believe the polls and then it might be enough to make it actually come true. 

Some people think it doesn't matter because MSM is so last year, but Twitter and FB are also owned by right-wing nutjobs. A friend was randomly barred from Twitter for absolutely nothing she can discern that comes close to breaking any rules, while many many hate-mongering abusive asshats are left to troll freely. 

If Peepee gets in, that online world is coming to a neighbourhood near you!

"The Conservatives are even more terrifying that we thought. . . . This is what CPC delegates believe in. . . .

• They voted to prohibit gender related interventions for children either medicinal or surgical because they don't understand that even cis children sometimes requre gender related interventions. 
• But right after that one: Canadians should have bodily autonomy when it comes to vaccines and other health care treatments. . . . 
• Another policy is to protect our wives and daughters . . . demanding single sex spaces that are only open to women. . . . You are putting trans women at risk: imagine the life of a trans woman in a male prison or a male shelter. Oh, we don't care about that. 
• They want to get rid of any kind of awareness training, political, cultural, or ideological, such as mandatory diversity training. . . . You know why we need diversity training? Because of all the donkeys that don't think we need diversity training! 
• 'Federally funded jobs should go to a person who's best qualified irrespective of the personal immutable characteristics' . . . on the surface seems logical except it negates the preferential hiring for minorities . . . put in place because without that no minorities would have jobs . . . none of the jobs that the white male people wanna do. The reason we have those kinds of diversity policies is because historically, the people who looked like the boss were the ones who got the jobs. People who didn't look like the boss, didn't, even if they were the most qualified. . . . Because we live in a diverse country, we want to make sure that diversity is represented. . . . 

So really, you don't want diversity training; you don't wanna hire minorities; you don't give two fucks about transgender people; you're gaslighting when you say you care about children cause all of that stuff is scary to the CPC." 

Then she discusses the dramatic shift in the CPC over the last two years since Hannah Hodson ran as the first transgender CPC candidate in 2021 because she felt supported by conservatives back then. 

"This Conservative Party has gone backwards in time exponentially . . . because the CPC is run by alt right Christian fanatics who think that everybody needs to look and think like them in order to relevant in Canada. The CPC aims itself at white cis men. If you are not a white cis man, and you are considering voting for the CPC, you are absolutely voting against your best interests. Because at the end of the day, the conservatives only care about people who look like them. I will never understand anybody who belongs to a minority group ever voting conservative: women, female presenting, members of the 2SLGBTQ community, anybody who is not a cis het white Christian male. 

You have to dig deeper than just the words in the policy because if you read the policy, you might think that makes sense: women should get their own space, the most qualified person should get the job, but there's a whole shitload of other things there that people aren't looking at. Because in doing what you think is "right for you," you're fucking over a whole bunch of other people for no reason. And that is what the CPC is all about."  

Please share her Tiktok or this post to try to get the word about the dangers of the CPCs. Conservatives have already done enough damage provincially. If they get in federally, I guarantee abortion rights will be back on the table. 

ETA: Another one from Lisa B.: Women and girls don't need to be protected from transgender people as a demographic; their predominant assailants are cis gender men.

ETA: Hear it discussed at VoicED Radio from 33-42 min. They look at the media aspect of it all, careful not to agree or disagree with the political opinions espoused, but they point out TVO as now being a very left-leaning media outlet. They obviously missed seeing this thread.
