Break the Chain of Transmission!

BC's deputy provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, actually announced to the public, "If you've had Covid recently, you've had a boost to your immunity. So that's a good thing." Many scientists in the field are responding with, more or less, "No it absofuckalutely isn't!!" A recent study of marines supports the objectors.

Prognostic Chats wrote about the study:

"Are you a US Marine? Or as fit as one? Scared of a silly little thing like Covid? That nothing-burger of a mild virus, no worse than a cld or flu?! A super fit young adult with no co-morbidities, nothing to worry about, right? The Lancet has got some bad news for you (all).

In this population of healthy young (median age 18) US Marines with mostly either asymptomatic or mild acute Covid, ONE QUARTER of those infected with Covid reported physical, cognitive, or psychiatric long-term sequelae of infection (PASC). The Marines affected with PASC showed evidence of long-term decrease in functional performance suggesting that SARS-CoV-2 infection may negatively affect health for a significant proportion of young adults.

Compared to a historic cohort of Marines, participants with PASC scored worse on their physical fitness assessments due to slower run times. Those with PASC continued to have decreased physical performance ONE YEAR after completing initial training. . . .

The army with the fewest Covid infections will win the next world war."

Most (89%) of the study's participants had been previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 as determined by blood tests. That alone is a testament to the failure of public health. Of the infected, 34% had an asymptomatic infection, and 55% had symptoms, some severe, but none were hospitalized, yet 24.7% had Long Covid (PASC). From the study:

"The most prevalent symptoms were loss of taste and/or smell (42%), shortness of breath (38%) and cough (23%). Those with PASC had higher rates and severity of somatic, depressive, and anxiety symptoms. . . . Marines with PASC had significantly decreased physical fitness test scores . . . with a three-mile run time that averaged in the 65th percentiles of the reference cohort. . . . The poorer run times and overall scores among PASC participants are indicative of ongoing functional effects. . . . PASC participants had higher GAD-7 scores suggesting increased anxiety. . . . Increased severity of anxiety among those with PASC combined with greater rates of mental health disorders in general could portend an ominous combination and should be closely followed. Like others, we identified cardiopulmonary symptoms as some of the most prevalent."

Meanwhile, 76 year old Stevie Nicks is tough as nails, standing up to haters like a boss, showing us that it's possible to avoid Covid. Yes, she's got money and privileged, but what it really takes is having the balls to buck the trends and wear an N95 whenever in public. Not bought in bulk, they're $2 each, and we just need 5/month to rotate if you don't get them dirty or wet. I have them in my purse to pass out to the unfortunate people always coughing around me, but they won't take one even for free. Funny that.

We don't have to follow the inane advice of "experts" who have bullshitted their way to the top. We can go our own way.
